Representatives of the Georgian Law Independent Professionals Association (GLIP) traveled to The Hague to study and learn from leading international law institutions including HCCH, ICJ, and ICC.

Representatives of the Georgian Law Independent Professionals Association (GLIP) conducted an educational visit to The Hague, where they acquainted themselves with leading international law institutions—the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), the United Nations International Court of Justice (ICJ), and the International Criminal Court (ICC). During the visit, representatives attended:
  • At HCCH - a special session dedicated to international child abduction, discussing the practical implementation of the 1980 Hague Convention and mechanisms for child return;
  • At ICJ and the Peace Palace - informational meetings on the court’s mandate, functions, and procedures for resolving interstate disputes, as well as observing a court session;
  • At ICC - a public trial session on an international criminal case, gaining insight into the court’s practical work, alongside a meeting with Georgian judge Mr. Gocha Lortkipanidze.
This visit supports the deepening of professional knowledge and experience of Georgian lawyers in the fields of private international law, interstate law, and criminal law.
