GLIP members participate in the 30th Annual World Congress for Medical Law held August 5-7, 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium, presenting on AI in medical negligence and criminal law perspectives on healthcare fraud.

From August 5 to 7, 2026, members of the Georgian Lawyers for Independent Profession (GLIP) participate in the 30th Annual World Congress on Medical Law organized by the World Association for Medical Law (WAML), held in Antwerp, Belgium. The congress is hosted by the University of Antwerp, where the GLIP representatives present to the international academic and professional community: - Prof. Dr. Nino Lipartia – Chairman of GLIP, lawyer - Topic: "Rethinking Medical Negligence in the AI Era: The Loss of Chance Doctrine as a Response to Algorithmic Decision-Making" - Prof. Dr. Lawyer Ioseb Gabaraev – Member of the Board of GLIP, lawyer - Topic: "Criminal Law Perspectives on Healthcare Fraud" The congress unites leading scientists, lawyers, doctors, and healthcare experts worldwide. The program addresses contemporary challenges in medical law and bioethics, including: - The use of artificial intelligence in medicine; - Protection of patient rights; - Ethical and legal issues in healthcare; - Protection and management of health data; - Healthcare innovations and modern regulatory approaches; - Ensuring equal access to healthcare. Within the congress, there will be international scientific sessions, panel discussions, and experience sharing activities to strengthen international cooperation in the field of medical law. This study visit is organized by GLIP and aims to promote the professional development of the organization's members, share international experience, and represent the Georgian legal community with dignity in the international academic arena.
