Georgia Lawyers for Independent Profession Organize Study Visit to Medical Law and Bioethics International Summer School in Greece

Georgia Lawyers for Independent Profession and the Legal Profession Development Center are arranging a study visit for participation in the Medical Law and Bioethics International Summer School scheduled for July 5-10, 2026. The event will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης). The summer school focuses on the theme "Digital Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and Healthcare" and covers the following main topics:

• The legal framework of artificial intelligence and existing challenges,
• The impact of digital technologies on healthcare systems,
• AI and human rights,
• Algorithm-based diagnostics,
• Risks and innovations in robotic surgery,
• Big data and its application in healthcare,
• Smart hospitals and liability models,
• Contemporary issues in forensic medicine and bioethics.

The official invited speakers from Georgia are:

• Nino Lipartia – Chairman of Georgia Lawyers for Independent Profession, Doctor of Law, Professor,
• Ioseb Gabaraevi – Board Member of Georgia Lawyers for Independent Profession, Head of Criminal Law Direction, Doctor of Law, Professor, Lawyer.

Their joint presentation will address "The Legal Liability of Medical Artificial Intelligence Systems: Who is Responsible When AI Makes a Mistake?". This is the first international project in cooperation with Aristotle University, marking an important step towards enhancing professional education and international experience.
