Study seminar at the European Commission and the Council of Europe

Georgian Lawyers for Independent Profession and the Legal Profession Development Centre announced an introductory study seminar on European law and its principal institutions, planned for 2–3 March in Brussels, Belgium.

The study visit programme included an information meeting and seminar covering:

  • The role of the European Commission as the executive body of the European Union;
  • The functions and working methods of the European Commission and the Council of Europe;
  • The working principles of European institutions and their influence on the European Union;
  • A general overview of European Union legislation;
  • Employment and social affairs;
  • Consumer protection;
  • Development cooperation and research.

The programme also included sightseeing in Brussels and an excursion to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 4–7 March.
